As it was our 50th Anniversary, the Monday Night Group set a target of £25000 to raise and giveaway to local groups and charities in the Wyre Forest area. This was a big task as it would be our highest ever giveaway since we started 50 years ago. Determined to make this year the best year we’ve ever had, everyone at Monday Night Group put in their all to produce the fantastic family fundraising pantomime of ‘Cinderella’ in January this year. We sold more seats than ever this year which is thanks to you and everyone else who came to join in with the magic that was ‘Cinderella’.
Monday Night Group were able to give a donation out to a whopping 90 groups this year. The majority of the money is raised simply from selling tickets to see our pantomime. Everybody involved putting on the pantomime for you are volunteers wishing to give back to the local community (as well as having some fun along the way), which enables us to give the most amount of money away as possible.
We successfully hit our ambitious target, and the final amount we gave away was our BEST EVER at £25300. All the money was handed out at our presentation evening held at the Civic Theatre Hall on Wednesday the 18th of May 2016, helped of course by our guest speaker Mike George and members of MNG in costume, just as you’d expect us to be, to give the cheques away with a smile. This means that since becoming a registered charity in 1981 we’ve been able to make donations totalling over £425,000.
